BlackBerry is struggling to get back in the mobile phone game after suffering financial losses last year. This led to a number of proposed handsets to be cancelled – one of which was the Kopi.
However, the smartphone has once again appeared in an online leak, sparking rumours that the Canadian manufacturer may be rethinking its decision to scrap the device.
The QWERTY device has reappeared from Weibo and shows the handset sitting between a BlackBerry Q5 and Q10, though the new entry-level smartphone is more square than the rest of its family.
According to the source, the BlackBerry Kopi is expected to land later this month, though not a lot is known about the smartphone yet. Details have been thin on the ground but it is thought to sport a decent Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor.
However, with such an entry-level device being on the cards, it could be that BlackBerry is trying to establish itself in emerging markets and that the UK may never see it.
