People looking to recycle their used mobile may want to consider the BlackBerry as an option for when they upgrade.
The phone, which was initially a success in the business market, is now also being purchased by the general public.
James Atkinson, editor of Mobile magazine, said: "They have become more widespread and a wider range of people are getting them. People are upgrading to smartphones and getting updates on the later ones."
He added that the good reputation that the phone has created in the business world has now filtered through to the consumer world and added to its popularity.
RIM revealed last week (December 17th) that approximately 4.4 million new BlackBerry subscriber accounts were added in the last quarter, the total amount of BlackBerry subscribers is now reported to be 36 million.
