People who trade-in a mobile in the future may wish to keep an eye on Tesco and consider using the firm as a new provider.
James Atkinson, editor of Mobile Magazine, notes the supermarket chain is becoming a big player in the sector, particularly in the no-frills department.
However, he suggests the company has the potential to not only excel with cheap and convenient devices, adding it may not be content with this forever.
“I don’t think Tesco will just be satisfied by just doing the cheaper end. They’ll certainly do that end, but they’ll also look to move further up,” the expert states.
Last week, Ovum published a report that concluded low-cost operators such as Tesco are to enjoy a surge in market share over the next few years.
It said people will increasingly turn to convenience and low-cost providers over some of the more established players in the mobile sector.
