Selling a mobile phone can lead to an important decision – which device to choose as the perfect replacement.
One factor that could be increasingly important to people in this situation is the presence of apps and various brands' offering of them.
According to the latest Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA) figures, produced in conjunction with comScore, millions of people in the UK are using apps every month.
In April alone, some 8.8 million consumers ran an app that relies on the internet, with Google Maps said to be the most popular of all.
Henry Stevens, media director of the GSMA, said: "Apps have become an important entry point for accessing content on mobile devices and their usage will only increase with the rapid proliferation of smartphones."
TechCrunch recently claimed it has witnessed leaked reports of a brand new Facebook app for the iPhone, which features an upgrade of the social network's photo sharing technology.
