Apple's latest operating system – iOS 5 – has already been downloaded by more than a third of the users of its revolutionary iPhone range.
New research by Chitika has found that 38 per cent of iPhone owners around the world have already secured the latest platform, despite it being released only last month.
This figure falls slightly, to 30 per cent, when looking at iPad consumers and 12 per cent in relation to iPod users.
Chitika suggested that Apple consumers are loyal and seem to care about having the very latest technology at their fingertips – hence the rapid take-up of iOS 5.
It also put the similar iPhone and iPad figures partly down to the likelihood of many people owning both devices, such is their enthusiasm for Apple products.
The California-based manufacturer released the iPhone 4S – boasting more than 200 new features compared to previous models – last month, just days after the operating system became available.
