The rumours were true and Apple revealed not one, but two, brand new mobile phones at its big New York event.
It is the first time the company has released any brightly-coloured devices and you will be able to select from green, blue, white, black, pink and yellow versions if you want to buy the iPhone 5C.
Made from hard-coated polycarbonate plastic the devices should be more scratch resistant than the flagship iPhone 5. However, the affordable handset is a different size from other iPhones so expect to see plenty of cases hit the market if you want to make sure your Cupertino device has extra protection.
Inside its almost the same as the iPhone 5 with its A6 processor, four-inch Retina display and eight-megapixel camera and even improves on the old flagship's battery life. The iPhone 5C also has a new FaceTime HD camera which allows for better resolution and brings the brand new Facetime Audio which is contained in iOS 7.
The iPhone 5C will be available to pre-order on September 13th to be shipped out to the UK on September 20th. A SIM-free handset will cost you anything from £469.
