A second handset from Samsung designed to be rugged and hardwearing has been put to the test this week.
Ricky Cadden of Mobile Burn has looked at the manufacturer’s SGH-a657 model just a few days after Flora Graham of Cnet put the B2700 Bound through its paces.
Ms Graham found her handset to be designed with a whole host of outdoor-types in mind, however, Mr Cadden’s experience with Samsung’s other extreme model was quite different.
Although the performance of the SGH-a657 was found lacking when it came to testing it against water, a run-in with his pet dog proved that the gadget was a hardcore as Samsung claims.
“In our tests, we […] played fetch with it and our chocolate Labrador retriever Abilene,” he explained, noting that the device “stood up” well.
The Samsung SGH-a657 is one of the latest phones to feature 3G support, as well as integrated GPS.
