The Android Lollipop 5.0 has been one of the most talked about updates for Android in recent times and we have an update as to what we know about it so far as it begins to be rolled out.
Well, to begin with we don’t have to try and guess release dates as it is already here! Devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 have have the update rolled out to them, while the brand new Nexus 6 smartphone was released with it already included.
Other companies have also begun to push the update, including the LG G3 and Motorola’s Moto X and Moto G devices.
When it comes to major changes within the update, its design is the biggest one to note as it brings with it Material Design which offers a new look to apps, including 3D views and realtime shadows! Each animation on your screen will be able to connect with one another and the home, back and multi-tasking window buttons have been updated so that they now spin depending on the app which needs to use them.
It’s not just the design which has had a change within the new update, as the way in which notifications work has seen a difference too with the relevant information only being brought forward. You can also change them so that when you are in a meeting, for example, you only receive notifications from certain people or apps.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop has also updated so that the notification panel has merged with the lock screen, so that you can open it with a double tap, or simply swipe away the notification once you have read it.
