Amazon is reportedly working with smartphone manufacturer HTC to create a new range of devices, in a bid to compete with Apple and Google.
Even though the mobile phone market is packed with devices, the internet retailer is rumoured to be planning the launch of three devices, with one thought to be in the advanced stages of development, according to the Financial Times, which cites sources close to the situation.
Rumours of Amazon entering the smartphone market have been rumbling along for a number of years, ever since it announced its decision to make a tablet device.
But, now it seems the rumours could come to fruition, and HTC is known for its partnerships with other companies.
The Taiwanese firm's chief of marketing Ben Ho recently said: "We have been very focused on building our own brand, but we have also been very open to co-branding and collaborating with carriers and other technology brands."
