The rumours that online juggernaut Amazon could be releasing a mobile phone have fallen by the wayside a little over the last few months. However, new reports expect the Project Aria handset to land in 2014.
Even better news is that the smartphone won't break the bank, with sources saying it will come at a "fraction" of the cost of Apple's iPhone.
This is according to the Information, which managed to get hold of documents referring to Amazon's five-inch device by its codename. The files suggest potential manufacturing partners in Europe and China were spoken about last spring.
It refers to strategies for selling the device across the US, Europe and China this year and hints that it will arrive with an affordable price tag. This may come as a little surprise to some, as Amazon entered the tablet industry at the top-end of the market.
Previous rumours suggested that smartphone will sport 3D gesture and eye tracking, a 13-megapixel camera and a Snapdragon 800 processor.
