The CES has officially kicked off in Barcelona and, although the bigger names have stolen a lot of the limelight, Alcatel has sparked some interest with its latest mobile phone.
The firm has brought its One Touch Idol X+ with its eight cores of processing power to the big tech event, which has had a few heads turning.
A successor to the One Touch Idol X, the Idol X+ is a definite improvement on the last device we saw from the company.
As well as its 2GHz octo-core processor, the handset offers a five-inch full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and 13.1-megapixel camera. All this is packed into a device that is incredibly thin, measuring just 7.9mm.
However, those who like their storage may be disappointed as it doesn’t include a microSD card, so you’ll be stuck with your 16GB or 32GB.
The device will come with a reasonable price tag of just £150, which puts it firmly in the budget-friendly region. It should start shipping out next month (February) so keep your eyes peeled.
