People that sold their mobile phones in favour of getting a tablet are likely to buy a second device at some point during 2012, a new report suggested.
According to the annual predictions for the technology industry by Deloitte, an increasing number of people are going to own more than one tablet device in the next 12 months.
Global lead for Deloitte's technology, media and telecommunications department Jolyon Barker said the tablet explosion of 2010 is showing few signs of slowing down and they are set to take the mantle as the most rapid multiple market penetration in history.
“Around five million tablets will be sold to people who already own one in 2012, generating up to £1.3 billion in revenue for technology businesses," he continued.
Senior vice president of international sales at security solutions firm Entrust Mark Reeves many people take it for granted that their tablets will not be vulnerable to attacks from viruses.
