We reckon it takes around two hours to fully recharge a smartphone – give or take 30 minutes on either side. Our guide gives you some suggestions about how best to use this time away from your beloved device.
Write a short story
Tap into your inner wordsmith and pen yourself a short story. You can either write it out by hand – that’s what we call proper old school – or type it on your computer. Have fun and who knows, you may just produce a very interesting piece of literature that could change your life.
Listen to an album
Most of us usually listen to music on the move or have it on in the background. Listening to it in the house, however, that’s rarity. Well, now you have the time to put on one of your favourite records – literally if you own a record player – and sit back on the couch and enjoy it without any distractions.
Cook up a storm
What’s that? The sound of your belly grumbling. Instead of going for the easy option – takeaway or fast food – why not harness the power of your inner chef and spend some time cooking a dish from scratch, There are loads of dishes you can create in two hours, so the possibilities are endless.
Go for a walk
Walking is great for you. According to the NHS, it is “simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier”. It’s a surprise then that quite a few of us don’t really walk beyond what is necessary. Ideally, we should be racking up 10,000 steps a day.
Tidy up your house
There never seems to be an ideal time for cleaning up your house, but, what do you know, you have just found yourself two hours! Do the usual – get a load of washing on the go, clean your dishes, dust your house, vacuum and all the rest. Once your phone is charged, you can chill out in your very clean pad.
Watch a movie
Again, a lot of us are no longer watching movies in the so-called traditional way – in the living room – because our handy smartphones are built to offer us high resolution movies on the go. However, while great, you can’t fault the size of your TV and the comfort of being at home.
