What does Mazuma mean?

The dictionary meaning of 'Mazuma' [mah-zoo-mah] is: Money, cash. Mazuma Mobile = Money for your mobile!

How does it work?

You can find out by going to our 'How It Works' page.

What sort of handsets can I send?

We'll accept both Working and Non-Working mobile listed in our pricing guide. For the full story, please take a peek at our Handset Terms & Conditions.

What must I send with the handset?

We'll happily accept handset accessories - but they are not required. We like to keep things simple. So we just need the handset with its battery.

How do I find out what model my handset is?

Finding your handset model can sometime be tricky. On most handsets the model is normally printed on the product label which can be found on the back of the handset. You can also try to match what your phone looks like against our extensive model image library.

What if my phone is not on your list?

Our list includes over one thousand (Yes, 1000!) phones and is continually growing. So it's pretty BIG. If you can't find yours, don't worry. Please use our 'Handset not listed' option to let us know. You'll find it in the Model Selection section of this website.

Does my handset colour affect the price?

In order to keep things nice and simple we pay you the same price regardless of handset colour.

Why is my phone only worth £1?

We list over 900 models, some worth £1 and others worth £150. Our pricing team monitor market prices on a daily basis to ensure our prices remain the most competitive. With some new prepay handsets being sold for as little as £9.99 the prices we can pay you for second hand ones can sometimes be limited.

What is an IMEI number?

This sounds a bit complicated but it really isn't. The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is a serial number unique to each and every phone. You'll usually find it printed on the back of the handset. Alternatively you can ask your phone to tell you itself: it'll display its IMEI on the screen if you enter *#06# . Helpful, that.

Is there a limit to the number of phones I can sell?

Good question, and good news. You can send us as many phones as you want, whenever you want. We'd like it if you did.

Do I pay for the postage when sending my phone?

No, we think that would be cheeky. We pay it for you. Simply use the FREEPOST bag provided to send your phone(s) to us.

Unfortunately, we do not accept responsibility for non-delivery of phones. We recommend that you send any high value units via registered post to ensure successful delivery. Saves any disappointment.

Registered deliveries should (please) be sent to us at Mazuma headquarters:

Mazuma Mobile
1 Colne Way Court, Colne Way,
Watford, Hertfordshire,
WD24 7NE

IMPORTANT! If you trade in 10 or more phones in the one order, we will call you to arrange free courier collection.

Is the 'Freepost MAZUMA' address on the freepost bag enough?

'Freepost MAZUMA' is a registered Royal Mail Freepost Name. No address or stamps are required.

If sending your handset(s) via recorded post, please address to: Mazuma Mobile, 1 Colne Way Court, Colne Way, Watford, Hertfordshire WD24 7NE.

What happens if I forgot to include my Delivery Note?

Forgetting to enclose the delivery note, when posting your handset(s), is not a problem providing you listed the IMEI number(s) in your order. Our system is able to locate your order via the handset(s) IMEI number(s).

What if my phone is barred?

We accept barred phones provided that they are not registered stolen.

Do you accept stolen phones?

We don't like thieves and definitely do not accept stolen phones. We check all received phones via CheckMEND, a crime protection database, to ensure that phones are not barred or registered stolen.

How long is my order valid?

Your order is valid for 14 days from the 'Order Processed' date. (This is the date we sent you a confirmation letter and FREEPOST bag.) You have plenty of time to get your phone off to us, but we do recommend that you do it as soon as possible. That way there's less chance of your order expiring, and the sooner you receive our payment!

How and when do I get paid?

Ah, yes. The really important bit. Once we have received and checked your phones we promise to pay you within 7 days!! Snappy.

What happens to my phone(s)?

Most of the phones are sent for reuse in markets such as China, Africa, Pakistan and India helping to bring improved and more widespread communications to these developing economies.
